Kathy Glasnap

A peaceful serenity captures the mood and tone of many of the watercolors by Kathy Glasnap. From the intricate detail of architectural designs to the soft and gentle nature of her landscapes, the nostalgia of rural America is depicted with charm and sensitivity. Her unique style of painting combines a traditional form with an impressionistic flair. Born in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1948, Kathy is a self-taught watercolorist whose career as a professional artist dates to 1972 when she moved to the Milwaukee area. In 1995 she moved to Door County and, in the Spring of 1996, opened her new cottage gallery in a wooded area along County Highway A near Fish Creek. The National Wildlife Federation, The Humane Society, Father Nature Cards, and Artistic Greetings regularly commission her work, all including "Fred" the cardinal. Kathy's move to Door County now allows her to live amidst the natural beauty that has so influenced her work.

Kathy's cottage gallery in the woods is located three quarters of a mile south of the intersections of County Highways F and A.

The gallery is open from 1-5 p.m. daily from mid-May through October and also by appointment.

A wide array of Kathy's work is exhibited including original watercolors, signed and numbered prints, Door County scenes, posters, and Pumpernickel Press holiday cards and notecards.
